Informal colorful shirts made in Okinawa are usually called “Kariyushi Wear”.

“Kariyushi” is Okinawan dialect meaning “call for celebration”, and the shirts have become a common sight here during the warm season because they are cool and comfortable to wear as they are made of fabric that breathes.

The Kariyushi Wear have a traditional Okinawan touch, and they are much like Hawaiian Aloha-shirts.
