Plaza House shopping center in Okinawa City was opened 1954. At the time, it was the first American style shopping center in Japan and immedistely became a great tourist attraction.

Perhaps the best known shop in the Plaza House is Roger’s that sells accessories and clothes imported from places like Paris and Milan.

It also has many restaurants, such as Cantonese cuisine restaurant Getsuen Hanten, Senor Taco, Shakey’s pizza restaurant, Indian curry restaurant Krishna, and more. There is also a nail salon, photo studio, gift shop and art gallery within the center.

There’s also the only bookshop on Okinawa that specializes in English language books and publications called Tuttle Book.
