Harii
Haarii, better known to most as Dragon Boat races. A tradition that originated in China some 600 years ago to pray for safe voyages for seafarers became a traditional prayer for a life of security in the Ryukyu Kingdom, the festive Harii is now a time for praying for large catches of fish. It’s also one of the biggest events on the island, with plenty of style, show and fun.
