Sangwa
There’s a custom in Okinawa of putting a “sangwa” on the door as a charm against evil. It’s a reef made of Eulalia leaves tied together. Also, when kids go out by night, or a person gives food to somebody, it is a custom to place a “sangwa” on the food to avoid a specter. Eulalia is considered effective for warding off demons because the leaf is sharp enough to cut a hand.
