Shikina Garden in Naha is a Designated National Special Scenic Spot. It was the largest of the Ryukyu royal villas, and was used to entertain guests and royal family, and for recreation. The shrine on the premises that was built in 1799 has a circular garden to allow guests to enjoy changing scenery while walking around the pond. The islands in the pond were built in the Chinese fashion, and there’s also a Chinese-style hexagonal building.  The overall style of the garden is unique to the Ryukyu Kingdom
