Senaga Island
Senaga Island is a part of Tomigusuku City, located just south of Naha. A legend has it Senaga Island was the birthplace of the earliest Tomigusuku residents, of whom most were fishermen. Because the island is very small there is lack of land, and they had no other choice but to move to Okinawa main island. Nowadays, it’s easy to visit the island by car or foot since a bridge connects it to the main island. Senaga is a popular spot to observe departing and arriving airplanes, play baseball, and fishing. It’s also popular among wind surfers. Since the completition of a hot-spring resort last year, the island welcomes many tourists from in and out of Japan.
