Santinmo is a well-known sacred spot located on top of a hill and graveyard on below in the Itoman district of Itoman City. An observatory on top of the hill overlooks the city. It’s also famous and important for its relationship with the Itoman Haarii. Since ancient times, early in the morning one week before the day of Haarii (5/4 of the Lunar Calendar, this year 6/19 of the Western Calendar), the Haarii bell is rung at Santinmo. It’s said that when the Haarii bell rings, the rainy season will be end.
