Heiwa-Kinen Koen, the Peace Memorial Park in Mabuni, Itoman City, is the place where you will find the names of people, soldiers and civilians alike, who died during the Battle of Okinawa, inscribed in granite monuments called the Cornerstone Of Peace.

The total number of names is currently 234,183. These monuments were erected on the 50th anniversary of the Battle of Okinawa as a memorial, and to offer prayers for people who died during the war, and a symbol of the wish for eternal peace.
