Adan
This tree grows by rivers and beaches of Okinawa’s islands. Fibers can be produced from the root of this plant, and the leaves can be used for handcrafts such as head gear, mats, rugs and baskets. Adan’s fruit is edible but its taste is not considered very pleasant.
