The history of Okinawan glass working stretches more than 100 years. The first products were oil lamp chimneys, phials, and containers for candy and salted vegetables. Artisans here use free blowing techniques with an iron pipe rod with 12mm bore. The traditional techniques are cultivated to this day, and produce many handicraft vases, water bottles, and other everyday items.
