Zamami Island belongs to the Kerama Islands group, which are known for the world’s most transparent emerald green waters (visibility 50-60m). Those islands are also known as one of the world’s best diving spots, having a number of coral species and marine life as large as those on the Great Barrier Reef of Australia. Over 400 types of corals, 5 species of sea turtles, manta rays, whale sharks, dugongs and many kinds of tropical fish species all live around Okinawa.
