Futenma Shrine
Futenma Shrine, located in Ginowan City, was built 500 years ago by an order of King Sho Kinpuku. Countless people pay visit to the shrine every year to offer prayers mostly for fertility.
There are two stalagmites, which are said to symbolize fertility in the entrance of the cave within the shrine. Walking through the 50m long trail inside is a symbol for going back to one’s mother’s womb and being reborn and purified.
