Gosamaru was the lord of Nakagusuku and master of the Nakagusuku Castle during the Ryukyu Kingdom era. Taking pride of its history, the modern day Nakagusuku Village has transformed Gosamaru into its mascot, using the character Gosamaru to aggressively promote the village.

Now, everyone can see him at most Nakagusuku Village events. Gosamaru likes island carrots that are produced on farms of Nakagusku around the most popular location in the village, the Nakagusuku Castle.
