Uchikabi

This yellow paper called “UCHIKABI” represent money that is given ancestors during religious obon and shi-mii ceremonies (these events honor spirits of deceased ancestors), and praying for one’s homestead. After Okinawans offer food to ancestors, uchikabi is burned as an offer to the spirits for use in the other world.
