Ie Island is located off the coast of Motobu, in the northern part of Okinawa.

This island is known for its symbolic Shiroyama which is called “Iejima- tacchu,” a cone-shaped hill.

Agricultural products, like sugar cane, chrysanthemums and tobacco are cultivated in large scale on this island.  This island also experienced some of the fiercest battles during the world war II.
