Hinpun Gajyumaru, in Nago, is a huge banyan tree that is 19 meters high, 10 meters around and 300 years old. “Hinpun” means the wall which blinds the house from outside and protects from evil spirits or misfortune.

This is the gateway to the main street in Nago. Local people believe that the big tree keeps an eye on them. It is also the symbol of Nago.
