Union is an Okinawan chain of grocery shops that is known for havin all of its stores open 24 hours 7 days a week. The stores are recognizable for their red trimming.

Union has 18 stores on Okinawa in Ginowan, Okinawa City, Naha, Haebaru, Uruma, Urasoe, Tomigusuku, Chatan, and Nakagusuku. The shops are popular especially among people who work shifts or don’t have time to go buy something during daytime or evenings.

Union stores have a trademark jingle that plays in the store and also in their TV commercials. The words in the jingle extol the fact that Union stores are open 24 hours a day and here for everybody, all the time. The jingle is very catchy and can stick to customer’s head for a long time, even if one does not understand the jingle’s Japanese language words.
